LITTLE POLIO DROP

Little polio drop (LPD) was very sad. “Oh! How I wish , I could see the beautiful world? My life ends from the bottle to the dropper to a mouth/ dark tunnel of some child.

A little fairy Shiny (wish-cum-true) heard her cries. She came down on the moon beam light and whispered in her ears. “I’ve come to take you for a joy ride to the fairy land. Come sit on my wings.”

“Oh  you can?……How lovely!” giggled the little drop   and sat on the wings .Shiny the fairy zoomed around and flew back on the moonbeam road to the fairyland. 

 They landed in beautiful garden. where ducks swam, birds chirped, butterflies fluttered  on beautiful colorful  flowers spreading fragrance all around. In  the garden children  jumped and played and shrieked with joy.

LPD  looked around with wide opened eyes. “How beautiful? Everything is so beautiful. I also want to play with children.”  “Well, but so many of your fellow drops are playing within them….here…take our magic specs and see.” said the fairy with a smile . LPD’s eyes opened wider and wider as she gasped,  “Goodness heavens all my friends  are so happy.” They all waved at her with great joy.

Just then they saw few children sitting on the benches ,looked at them with sad longing eyes.“Why are they not playing  Shiny?” LPd asked pointing at them.

“Well you did not play with them” sighed Shiny. “They are affected with polio.”

“Did not play with them?…..but ..but ..I’ve never played with anyone.” asked  LPD very confused.

“They did not have polio drops .” said Shiny. “Oh you mean …me? ”asked LPD surprised. “Yes”  said Shiny with a twinkle in her eyes.  “That’s where you belong…playing with the children…and see the world through their eyes.

“Hm…mn” beamed LPD, nodding her head heavily and eyes circling, “I surely will…”

Next day LPD too was dancing within  a little girl exploring the whole world.
